摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a forming method of a phosphor layer that prevents occurrence of color unevenness and luminance unevenness on a screen, coping with higher definition and a larger screen. <P>SOLUTION: There is provided a manufacturing method of an image display device causing phosphor ink to adhere to a substrate on which partition walls are formed, by using a phosphor applying device. The phosphor applying device comprises: a nozzle plate 36 on which a plurality of nozzles are formed; a supplying unit 30 for supplying the phosphor ink to the nozzle plate 36; and a piezoelectric element 35. The nozzle plate 36 has a space 39 that communicates with the plurality of nozzles and is perpendicular to the nozzles. Flow paths of a forward path and a return path 30a and 30b for circulating the phosphor ink are formed inside the supplying unit 30 so as to be parallel to the nozzles. The supplying unit 30 is configured such that the piezoelectric element 35 applies a pressure different from a pressure applied to the phosphor ink to the phosphor ink in the flow paths of the forward path and the return path 30a and 30b while the phosphor ink is being circulated through the flow paths of the forward path and the return path 30a and 30b and the space 39. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
