LUBRICATING OIL COMPOSITION FOR TRUNK PISTON ENGINE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lubricating oil composition for a trunk piston engine.

SOLUTION: The lubricating oil composition for a trunk piston engine contains: (a) a major amount of oil having a lubricative viscosity; (b) one or more carboxylate-containing detergents containing salt of alkyl-substituted hydroxyl aromatic carboxylic acid, wherein at least 50% of an alkyl portion in the alkyl-substituted hydroxyl aromatic carboxylic acid, however, contains C26+alkyl group derived from one or more linear alpha olefins; and (c) one or more zinc dithiophosphates in 0.02-0.12 mass% in terms of phosphorus amount.
