<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire having improved quietness during traveling and an enhanced water-discharging property during traveling on a wet road surface. <P>SOLUTION: The pneumatic tire includes: a plurality of lands disposed in a tread and segmented by a main groove extended in a tire circumferential direction; sipes which are formed in the land are present by at least one in a tread contact face, and closed when contacting with the ground; and the sound absorbing chamber disposed at a bottom of the sipe and having a wide portion one end of which communicates with the main groove and does not close under a maximum load on a single wheel in an applied size and under air pressure corresponding to the maximum load when the sipes are present in the tread contact face. The sound absorbing chamber has a total volume of 200 mm<SP POS="POST">3</SP>or smaller per 800 cm<SP POS="POST">2</SP>of a tread contact area, and has a volume of 70 mm<SP POS="POST">3</SP>or larger per single chamber. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
