FIXING DEVICE AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device capable of suppressing electrostatic offset with a simple method that has never been before, and an image forming apparatus employing such a fixing device.

SOLUTION: A fixing device 4 includes a water vapor guiding device 7 that guides water vapor of a recording sheet generated by a recording sheet S entering a nip N provided by a heating member 41 and a pressing member 42 to at least a recording sheet part before the entrance into the nip. The device 7 includes a first water vapor guiding member 71 that is arranged at a position capable of facing a first surface part s1 of the recording medium S carrying an unfixed toner image before entering the nip. Also provided is an image forming apparatus 10 employing the fixing device 4.
