PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming system and an image forming apparatus configured to prevent a sheet bundle from being unnecessarily finished.

SOLUTION: The sheet bundle is folded at a folding position by a folding part 562. The finishing can be selected by a flattening unit 700 when the sheet bundle to be folded is to be bound by a binding part 561. The finishing cannot be selected when the sheet bundle to be folded is not to be bound.
