An internal breather valve (50) for use with a spring brake actuator in an air brake system of a motor vehicle, said valve comprising: a main body (51) adapted to fit into the end portion (5) of a stem of the spring brake actuator, a fluid channel formed in and extending through the main body, a valve seat (67) formed in the main body and communicating with the fluid channel, a vented diaphragm (55) which is movably mounted inside the main body and adapted to sealingly engage the valve seat, and an elastically deformable member (53) linking the diaphragm and the main body such that the vented diaphragm is held in a normally-open position. |
