A server device (100) transmits media data of a media rate calculated by a rate outputting means (102) to a client device (200) at a transmission rate calculated by the rate outputting means (102). In the rate outputting means (102), a predetermined constraint condition is used with an objective function that uses the media rate and the transmission rate as variables and establishes an assessment value for assessing a combination of a quality of user experience and a delivery cost so as to correspond to the variables, to calculate a combination of media rate and transmission rate that has the highest assessment value. The client device (200) plays back content on the basis of the media data that has been sent from the server device (100). |
