The present invention relates to a device for recharging the propulsion batteries of an electric motor vehicle that comprises a reservoir designed to receive and to contain pressurized air, a turbine connected to the reservoir and supplied with pressurized air from said reservoir to convert the pressure energy of the pressurized air into kinetic energy at the turbine shaft, and an electric generator connected to the turbine shaft to convert the kinetic energy of said shaft into electrical energy, wherein the generator can be electrically connected to the propulsion batteries in order to recharge said propulsion batteries.
