The device (1) has a handling cradle (2) that is located to support object within build chamber (10). A coating apparatus (3) is provided for applying layers of the construction material on the object in handling cradle. An irradiation device (15) is located for irradiating layers of the construction material on the object. A discharge opening (13) is formed in lower portion of build chamber. The handling cradle is configured such that the object is discharged from the discharge opening in downward direction. The object is arranged in a constructed housing. An independent claim is included for method for producing three-dimensional object.
