The crane vehicle has an undercarriage, an upper carriage that is rotated with the undercarriage, and ballast elements. A ballasting device presses the ballast elements against the upper carriage during work at construction site. A coupling unit (1) is provided for coupling the ballast elements at upper carriage. The coupling unit is provided with a drive (2) and a coupling element (4) for coupling the ballast elements with drive during road travel of vehicle. An independent claim is included for a method for fastening of ballast element to upper carriage.
