Combined preparation of at least two target products comprising (Z1) formic acid, (Z2) methyl formate, (Z3) formamide compounds (I) or (Z4) metal formate comprising e.g. calcium and aluminum formate, comprises providing a formic acid-amine adduct (II), and partially reacting (II) by at least two steps comprising e.g. thermally splitting (II) to obtain target product (Z1) and tertiary amine compounds (III), (ii) reacting (II) with methanol to obtain the target product (Z2), water and (III), or (iii) reacting (II) with amine compounds (IV) to obtain target product (Z3), water and (III). Combined preparation of at least two target products comprising (Z1) formic acid, (Z2) methyl formate, (Z3) formamide compounds of formula (H-(C=O)-NR4R5) (I) or (Z4) metal formate comprising sodium-, potassium-, magnesium-, calcium- or aluminum formate, comprises (a) providing a formic acid-amine adduct of formula (NR1R2(R3) xHCOOH) (II), and (b) partially reacting (II) by at least two steps comprising (i) thermally splitting (II) in a thermal splitting unit to obtain target product (Z1) and corresponding tertiary amine compounds of formula (NR1R2R3) (III), (ii) reacting (II) with methanol in a reactive distillation column to obtain the target product (Z2), water and (III), (iii) reacting (II) with amine compounds of formula (NHR4R5) (IV) in a formamide-reactor to obtain target product (Z3), water and (III), or (iv) reacting (II) with a metal hydroxide comprising sodium-, potassium-, magnesium-, calcium- or aluminum hydroxide in a metal formate reactor and in presence of water to obtain target product (Z4), water and (III). Either R4, R5 : 1-15C alkyl, 5-10C cycloalkyl, 5-10C heterocyclyl or 5-10C (hetero)aryl (all optionally monosubstituted by 1-15C alkyl, 5-10C cycloalkyl or 5-10C aryl) or H; or R4+R5+N : 5-6-membered ring (optionally further contains O, S or N and optionally substituted by R6); R6 : H or 1-6C alkyl; x : 0.4-5; and R1-R3 : pentyl, hexyl, heptyl or octyl. |
