<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correctly store normal coins whose abrasion, deformation or the like heavily occurs while preventing coins which should not be stored from being stored. <P>SOLUTION: A currency collection device includes at least one measurement sensor, determination means, storage/ejection means and changing means. At least one measurement sensor measures a numerical value indicating the attributes of currency input from an input port. The determination means determines the possibility/impossibility of the storage of currency by threshold determination relating to the numerical value measured by the measurement sensor. The storage/ejection means stores currency according to the determination of the determination means that the storage of the currency is possible, and ejects currency according to the determination of the determination means that the storage of the currency is impossible.
