Method for installing a wind turbine at an offshore location by using an installation barge, comprising the steps of providing an assembly structure arranged on a deck of the installation barge; mounting at least a hub on the assembly structure; fitting at least one blade to the hub while the hub is mounted to the assembly structure, wherein during fitting of the blade to the hub the blade is under an angle with the deck; lifting the completed hub-rotor assembly and mounting the hub-rotor assembly onto a pre-installed wind turbine tower section.
