The device (20) has a coupling unit (60) detecting signals to be transferred to a transfer line (50), which signal-technically couples network nodes (Node A, Node B). A decision unit (40) is independent on one of the network nodes and comprises a bus interface (42) that is signal-technically coupled with the decision unit and the coupling unit. Information contents of a data telegram are detected by the coupling unit on the transfer line. A communication protocol is attached to a waking up pulse and a data telegram, which differs from that of the network node.
