The controller has a target amount computer (51) that calculates a target amount of fuel based on target pressure of high pressure fuel, where the fuel is pumped by a fuel pump (20). A pumping amount determining unit (52) determines pumping amounts of two pumps, if it is necessary, based on the target amount. A pump controller (53) controls the former pumping amount that is greater than the latter pumping amount, where the pumping amount determining unit set the pumping amount up to maximum.
