The method involves assigning a function to a digital signal that is coded by a sound system (1) in a sound signal (8), where the sound signal is emitted over a sound generator (4) of the sound system. The sound signal is received from a sound detector of a mobile terminal (10). The mobile terminal decodes the digital signal from the sound signal and executed the function assigning to the digital signal. One of the tuning options is assigned to a tone signal and is emitted by user-side selection of selected tone signal over the sound generator of the mobile terminal. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) a method for executing an adjustment by multiple mobile terminals; (2) a method for transmitting a digital signal from a transmitter; (3) a computer program product; and (4) a device with fitting units.
