<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress fluctuations in a pixel electrode potential of a liquid crystal display device employing an IPS system, caused by ON/OFF operations of a gate voltage. <P>SOLUTION: A pixel electrode 101 is formed on a TFT substrate 100, a gate insulating film 102 is formed thereon, an inorganic passivation film 106 is further formed thereon, and a common electrode 107 having a slit is formed thereon. A through hole 110 is formed in the gate insulating film 102 in a region where the pixel electrode 101 opposes to the common electrode 107; and the hole is filled with the inorganic passivation film 106. The common electrode 107 is formed on the inorganic passivation film 106 in a portion corresponding to the through hole 110. In the portion, the pixel electrode 101 opposes to the common electrode 107 only via the inorganic passivation film 106, not via the gate insulating film 102, which can increase a pixel capacitance. Thereby, fluctuations in the pixel electrode potential caused by ON/OFF operations can be suppressed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
