PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and method for reducing electric power in a page scan mode and an inquiry scan.

SOLUTION: An electronic device for communication comprises a processor 435. The processor comprises a power scan module 446 configured to receive an energy detection signal for identifying detection of energy of a page signal or an inquiry signal. The power scan module is further configured to provide, upon receiving the energy detection signal, an instruction for performing a page scan or an inquiry scan.
