A vent controlling system for a hearing aid (1) including a surface (11) of a piece (10) adapted to be coupled to an opening (12) of a vent (5) to vary engagement of the vent (5) with an external environment by changing a geometry of the piece (10) on application of a force to the piece (10), wherein the piece (10) is adapted to be placed in a housing (8) to be worn in an ear of a user, the vent (5) is through the housing (8) adapted to allow passage of air and acoustic from an external environment to inside of the ear and the surface (11) of the piece (10) and the opening (12) of the vent (5) are substantially parallel to each other.
