<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water purification apparatus capable of more sanitarily keeping its inside and capable of providing more-safety drinking water. <P>SOLUTION: The water purification apparatus 1 includes: a purification unit 20 for generating purified water by purifying raw water; an ozone generation unit 30 for generating an ozone gas containing a bactericidal component; a water passing mode discharging the purified water generated by the purification unit 20; and a control unit 50 switching the first and second sterilization modes for sterilizing the inside of the apparatus by the ozone gas generated by the ozone generation unit 30.
