<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect abnormal conditions of a rear wheel steering device for steering and controlling a rear wheel of a vehicle. <P>SOLUTION: A rear wheel steering device 10 includes: a rear wheel steering mechanism 11 for steering a rear wheel; and a rear wheel steering ECU 12 for controlling the rear wheel steering mechanism 11. The rear wheel steering ECU 12 determines whether the rear wheel steering mechanism 11 is moved while an ignition switch is turned off. When it is determined that the rear wheel steering mechanism 11 is moved, the rear wheel steering mechanism 11 returns the rear wheel steering mechanism to a neutral position, and determines abnormal conditions of the rear wheel steering mechanism 11 by comparing a vehicle straight traveling steering angle acquired before the ignition switch is turned off with a vehicle straight traveling steering angle after the rear wheel steering mechanism 11 is returned to the neutral position. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
