<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for treating 1,4-dioxane contained in wastewater that can efficiently reduce the emission of 1,4-dioxane into the atmosphere when 1,4-dioxane-containing wastewater is treated by an accelerated oxidation process using ozone gas, and to provide a device therefor. <P>SOLUTION: The method for treating 1,4-dioxane contained in wastewater is characterized by disssolving, in water, waste gas containing 1,4-dioxane scattered together with ozone gas during an accelerated oxidation process for decomposing 1,4-dioxane contained in wastewater in conjunction with one or more of ozone treatment, hydrogen peroxide treatment, and ultraviolet treatment, thereby converting 1,4-dioxane into an aqueous solution. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
