A power supply device is provided with a power transmission unit for transmitting power by using a magnetic field or an electric field to an apparatus to be supplied with power and having a secondary battery, and a power transmission control unit for controlling the power transmission operation of the power transmission unit. The power transmission control unit controls the power transmission operation such that the power transmission power increases if the apparatus to be supplied with power and having a secondary battery turns on during a charging period in which the secondary battery is being charged by means of the power transmission power when transmitting power.
