Class 89(1) A sealing nut assembly comprises a barrel 24 with a screwed bore 28 and an outwardly and downwardly extending flange 26 disposed about the barrel to form an annular recess 33, and a sealing member 20 of resilient material, e.g. polyethylene, consisting of a body 30 disposed under flange 26 and with a central aperture 32 surrounded by a part 34 engaged in the recess. The lower end of the barrel is outwardly-flared, and part 34 has an enlargement 36 to retain the parts in assembly. The inner periphery of aperture 32 engages the threads of, and frictionally locks, a co-operating bolt, and flange 26 compresses the body periphery against the work-piece. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 799,696.
