In a process and in an apparatus for manufacturing tyres for vehicle wheels, the deposition of a continuous elongated element of a tyre being formed on a forming drum comprises: providing a section of a continuous elongated element (5, 12) of elastomeric material; making opposite faces (30, 31) of the section simultaneously adhere to a transport surface and a surface radially external (13a) to a forming drum (13), respectively; adjusting a linear speed (V1) of the radially external surface (13a) and an advancing speed (V2) of the transport surface (23) for adjusting the length of the section while passing between such surfaces (23, 13a). |
