<p>This invention describes a system and method for making of highly efficient active defogging system for various kinds of eyewear, either optical or non-optical, using active electrical heating of some optically transparent parts of eyewear. It enables very effective use of electrical power to preserve safe clear vision during even aggressive temperature and humidity transitions. Alternatively, safe clear vision can be promptly restored if this system is activated after fogging has already happened. This is achieved by special structured coating on optically transparent parts of eyewear providing selective electrical heating of the most critical parts of the optically transparent eyewear area, and by electrical circuits feeding time dependent heating power to this coating.</p> |
