<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for discriminating the front and back of a clip, preventing erroneous assembly by reliably discriminating the front and back of the clip before assembling the clip to an attached member. <P>SOLUTION: A device 1 for discriminating the front and back of a clip C is a device for discriminating the front and back of the clip C having a bent part Ca at one end side. The device 1 includes: a jig 2 having a placing surface 2a for placing the clip C and a pedestal 21 standing on the placing surface 2a and having a diameter smaller than an inner diameter D1 of the clip C; a stationary stopper 3 standing on the placing surface 2a and having an abutting surface 3a against which the bent part Ca may abut and an insertion hole 3b into which the other end part Cb of the clip C may be inserted; a movable stopper 4 disposed on the placing surface 2a, in contact with the end part of the clip C, and movably arranged along a standing side surface 21a of the pedestal 21; and a spring member 9 biasing the movable stopper 4.
