A projection system (100) for illuminating a projection surface (40) is provided. The projection system (100) has at least one light source (10), which is formed from a plurality of light-emitting elements (11-14), each emitting light of a different wavelength, and an optical integrator (16) with an entry opening (16a) and an exit opening (16b); the light of each light-emitting element (11-14) is coupled into the entry opening (16a) in such a manner that a mixed light from all light-emitting elements (11-14) exits from the exit opening (16b) of the integrator. The projection system further has a projection lens (30), which transmits light exiting from the exit opening of each integrator (16) onto the projection surface (40). Between the exit opening (16b) of each integrator (16) and the projection lens (30), a respective optical element (20) is arranged, which shifts the virtual image of the entry opening (16a) along the optical axis in such a manner that the image thereof produced by the projection lens (30) is not visible on the projection surface (40). |
