METHOD FOR IMPROVING THE OPERATION OF A WATER DESALINATION FACILITY, IN PARTICULAR BY REVERSE OSMOSIS

A method consisting of determining the availability of a water desalination facility over a given period of time, wherein: a database (1) is established from results obtained from facilities in operation, taking into account the parameters of each facility and of the pre-treatment system implemented; classes are established for the water to be treated, defined by time variation profiles of parameters of the raw water to be treated comprising at least the SDI (silt density index) over the given period; a mathematical model (2) is established using information from the database, in order to determine at least the SDI values at the end of pre-treatment, and this mathematical model is applied to the parameters of the envisaged facility and pre-treatment, for a given water class, for a given pre-treatment system, and for given reagent treatment levels, in order to predict the SDI values at the end of pre-treatment, and the availability of this facility over the given period of time.
