The device has a tubular mesh (10) made of filaments (11) i.e. wires. A smooth end edge (13) with a tip (14) is designed at a proximal end (12a) of the mesh. The tip is arranged in a peripheral plane of the mesh. An annular supporting element (15) is connected with the finished edge and projects above the end edge. The supporting element is arranged at a distance from an apex (16) of the end edge such that the tip of the end edge is compressed against a vessel wall of a hollow body organ in an implanted condition by the supporting element.
