The method involves adjusting clutch torque to be transmitted by a friction clutch, and converting the torque and identification data of a motor vehicle into control variable by a control device for controlling a clutch actuator. Juddering vibrations of the clutch are detected and damped by superimposing a correction function on the variable. Time progression of the vibrations is observed over a time period up to a specified time, and the correction function is predicted for another time period, where the function is superimposed on the control variable during the latter time period. An independent claim is also included for a device for executing a method for controlling a friction clutch.
