The device (1) has a cannula pushed over a guide passage (5) and through a silicone closure (7) into a lumen (9) of a vacuum pipe (8). The cannula is rotated in a direction of a uvula over an outer screw thread (3) and an inner screw thread (6) after introduction of the uvula into the lumen of a guide pipe (4). The screw threads are hermetically sealed together. Negative pressure is produced in the lumen by a vacuum pump (13) that is in a form of bellows and supports a funnel (10) of the vacuum pipe hermetically sealed on a soft palate.
