The drive unit (1) has a drive motor (2) which is mounted rotatably with respect to a vertical swivel axis. The drive motor is provided with a drive shaft (7) and an output-side gear with bevel gear stage for driving the steerable running wheel (4). The drive motor is arranged vertically above the running wheel under specific inclination angle. The rotating track bearing (5) is provided with a rotating track bearing inner ring and rotating track bearing outer ring. The drive shaft is supported in the rotating track bearing inner ring of the rotating track bearing.
