PURPOSE: The crown measurement apparatus and method of the roll directly measures the areal thermal deformation rate on a real time basis, and compute the value, so the operator can recognize the amount of deformation of the roll on a real time basis. CONSTITUTION: The crown measurement apparatus of the roll comprised with a measurement unit, an operation unit (200), and a display section (300). The measurement unit is installed inside the roll to measures the areal strain rate of the roll. The operation unit computes the line crown size of the roll by computing the areal strain rate of the roll, which was measured in the measurement unit. The display section indicates so that the operator recognizes the line crown size computed in the operation unit. The roll is classified by contact area in which the steel sheet is contacted and non contact area in which the steel sheet is not contacted. |
