PURPOSE: An optical flow processing accelerator in motion recognition and a method thereof are provided to reduce an image used for an optical flow technique to a part of the whole image, thereby accelerating speed of a system. CONSTITUTION: A face recognition unit(300) recognizes a face in a stereoscopic image. A depth information processing unit(500) calculates depth information of the face based on information of the face. When the recognized face is moved, a face tracing unit(400) traces a size and a shape of the face corresponding to a movement direction. A control unit(600) generates the depth information of the face by control of the face recognition unit, the face tracing unit, and the depth information processing unit.
