PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrocarbon film-protected refractory carbide component and its use.

SOLUTION: A turbine power generation system includes a plurality of high-temperature gas path components including a combustor and a turbine. The combustor is configured to generate exhaust gas stream by combusting a fuel-air mixture including fuel and air. The turbine is configured to convert energy of the exhaust gas stream into effective mechanical energy. The plurality of high-temperature gas path components are thermally coupled to the high-temperature gas path. The turbine power generation system further includes a first conduit configured to supply a high carbon activity gas to at least one of high-temperature gas path components out of the plurality of high-temperature gas path components. The refractory carbide includes at least part of the plurality of high-temperature gas path components.
