<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for sterilizing at least a part of an inner wall and a part of an outer wall of containers by means of accelerated charge carriers, with separate devices for internal sterilization and external sterilization, which can treat a multiplicity of containers in a continuous process. <P>SOLUTION: An apparatus 50 includes: at least one first external radiation device 10 for sterilizing at least a part of an outer wall of containers; an internal radiation device 15 for sterilizing at least a part of an inner wall of containers, wherein the internal radiation device 15 at least in parts can be introduced through an opening into the container in order to apply the emitted charge carriers to an inner wall of the container; and transport devices 2, 4 for transporting the containers along a transport path during their sterilization, wherein along a part of the transport path of the containers between the first external radiation device 10 and the internal radiation device 15 is arranged a pitch change device 3 for changing a distance between two containers succeeding each other along the transport path. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
