<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a light alloy wheel for a vehicle in which cracks in a rim flange part can be suppressed without changing a shape of a wheel rim flange, and the light alloy wheel for the vehicle. <P>SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing a light alloy wheel for a vehicle includes a step of working a wheel rim 3 including a step of working a rim flange 33 of a wheel rim 3. The step of working the wheel rim 3 includes a pressing step described below. In the pressing step, a surface layer of the rim flange 33 which is deformed by an impact during the traveling of the vehicle and receives repeated stress in the deformed portion to start cracking, pressurized by pressing a rotary ball or a roller (pressurizing tool 6) to the surface of the flange part 33 to form a relaxation layer having a structure imparted with a compressive residual stress for relaxing tensile stress by the deformation, whereby an inner layer of the ring flange is not imparted with the intentional compressive residual stress but is configured to be deformable. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
