<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify an apparatus configuration, and to precisely control a turning angle of a steering wheel. <P>SOLUTION: A vehicle behavior control apparatus includes steps of: determining a travel locus of a preceding vehicle to be followed based on a speed and a steering angle of the preceding vehicle to be followed which are obtained by inter-vehicle communication with the preceding vehicle to be followed, and based on the travel locus, determining a virtual external shape of a road in front of a subject vehicle; calculating a virtual road border distance Do that is a distance to a road border of a virtual curved road positioned straight in front of the subject vehicle from the subject vehicle based on a current position of the subject vehicle and the determined virtual external shape of the road; and controlling a steering angle so as to coordinate the virtual road border distance Do with an appropriate distance Dc to a road border positioned straight in front of the subject vehicle from the subject vehicle. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
