<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power steering apparatus capable of improving steering feeling without particularly using an axial force sensor. <P>SOLUTION: In the electric power steering apparatus which transmits assist force generated by a motor to a steering shaft and assists steering performed in response to the movement in the shaft length direction of the steering shaft depending on axial force that acts on the steering shaft, the electric power steering apparatus includes a torque sensor for detecting steering torque of steering, a current sensor for detecting actual current flowing through the motor, and motor rotational angular velocity detecting means for detecting motor rotational angular velocity; and the electric power steering apparatus includes an axial force estimating means for estimating axial force that is applied on the steering shaft based on values of the torque sensor, the current sensor, and the motor rotational angular velocity detecting means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
