The pump has a piston (16) displaceably supported in a cylinder bore (34) of a cylinder (12). The piston is held in the cylinder by plastic deformation of the cylinder for manufacturing a piston-cylinder-component, where radial narrowing of the cylinder bore is produced by the plastic deformation that is created by a tool (36). The piston comprises a radial portion (42) i.e. shoulder, inserted into the cylinder bore. The piston is sealed by a sealing element at a low-pressure side and surrounded by a housing at which caulking deformation is formed. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a component of a piston pump.
