The gear box (1) has a dual clutch (8) including input shafts formed as sleeve and solid shafts (EW1, EW2). Gear wheels are arranged in wheel planes on the input shafts and counter shafts (VW1, VW2), and form gear wheel stages that are switched by a switching element. Switchable gear wheel stages (ZP2-ZP8, ZPR) are arranged in six wheel planes (I, II, IV-VII) such that nine forward and reverse gears are switched. The input shafts are coupled with the stages for switching the first gear and the ninth gear.
