<p>PURPOSE: A liquid crystal composition is provided to allow 'a liquid crystal device or a liquid crystal display device for achieving a low voltage driving and having a high stability'. CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal composition comprises a liquid crystal; 1,4:3,6-dianhydro-2,5-bis[4-(n-hexyl-1-oxy)benzoic acid]sorbitol represented by Formula(100) as a first chiral agent; and 4R,5R)-4,5-bis[hydroxy-di(phenanthren-9-yl)methyl]-2,2-dimethyl-1,3-dioxolane represented by Formula(101) as a second chiral agent. Also, the liquid crystal composition comprises a first substrate(200) and a second substrate(201) facing each other; a pair of electrodes(230, 232) applying an electric field between the first substrate and the second substrate; and a liquid crystal composition(208) between the first substrate and the second substrate.</p> |
