PURPOSE: A vehicle position tracking system using a smartphone and a method thereof are provided to perform the tracking position of a vehicle using an MCU(Micro Controller Unit) of the vehicle when a smartphone is close to the vehicle. CONSTITUTION: If there are no comparison results of a comparing module, a first GPS signal, a second GPS signal, and an MCU(200) stores the second GPS signal. The MCU detects a third GPS signal. The MCU confirms the variation of the second GPS signal and the third GPS signal. The MCU sets a position tracking cycle. The MCU calculates the final tracking information position. The MCU transmits the tracking information position to a smartphone as a type of SMS.
