An optical film and an LCD having the same are provided to induce and condense a side light to an LCD panel directly using a light condensing film, thereby improving the light emitting efficiency of a backlight unit. An LCD comprises an LCD panel, a light source for supplying light to the LCD panel, and a light condensing film(126) for condensing the light toward the LCD panel. The light condensing film, when a right-left direction of the light source is defined as an x-axis, a direction opposite to the light source is defined as a y-axis, and a direction orthogonal to a plane of a light guiding plate is defined as a z-axis, has a polygon pattern of which at least one side of a section on a y-z plane makes an angle(theta) between 0 and 45 degree with the z-axis. |
