PURPOSE: A device for storing a debug message of an AVN(Audio Video Navigation) system and a method thereof are provided to continuously extract and store debug messages in any situation, thereby increasing the speed of the improvement of the problem generated in the AVN system. CONSTITUTION: A debug message storage module(210) is connected to a mainboard(110) of a vehicle AVN system which outputs a debug message in a software routine through a serial port by using UART(Universal Asynchronous Receiver/Transmitter) communication. The debug message storage module copies the debug message and stores the same in a reserved area which is set by a WinCE OS. The debug message storage module includes a reserved memory(211); moviNAND flash(212) which records the contents stored in the reserved memory as a file; and a USB(Universal Serial Bus) interface(213) which transmits the file to a USB storage medium.
