The computer equipment comprises a trackball that is provided with a moving portion and a body (15) inside which the moving portion is displaced. A computer is configured to display an object and a pointer on a screen. The position of the pointer is dependent on the information delivered by the trackball. The trackball is provided with a unit for exerting a tangential force on the moving portion. A unit is provided for measuring a level of turbulence of a carrier. The computer is configured to adjust the amplitude of the force according to the level of turbulence measured. An independent claim is included for a method for driving a computer equipment.
