<p>The device comprises a workpiece retainer (3) that receives a pipe section at which a screw thread is to be provided. A screw thread roller (1) is provided with a roller portion (1a) that is pressed for rolling the screw thread radially against the pipe section. The workpiece retainer is provided with chuck jaws (3a,3b) that are pressed with the workpiece retainer for expanding the pipe diameter and for removing ovality of the pipe cross-section against inside wall.
