A gun, Fig. 1, for spraying a liquid mixture has a spray head 15 with a cylindrical mixing chamber 17, Fig. 4, to which separate liquids are fed under pressure through openings 23 and 25. The openings lie in a common plane and intersect the chamber chordally, and are equidistant from a spray outlet 21 at the apex of a conical part 19 of the chamber. A plunger 27 of a stem 7 slides in the chamber and, in its forward position, closes the chamber completely and forces out any liquid that may be retained. The rear end of the stem slides in a barrel 5 and is urged rearwardly by a pivoted trigger 13 against a spring 9 to open the openings 23, 25 simultaneously. In the embodiment, a thermosetting resin is pumped to the opening 23 and a hardener to the opening 25 via flexible hoses, and the feed to the openings is controlled simultaneously by a valve in the spray head 15. The separate pumps 47, 49, Fig. 7, supplying the liquids from heated storage containers are driven by an electric motor 59 via an electromagnetic clutch 57 and gearing 51, 53, 55, the latter being arranged to feed the liquids in the desired proportions. A Bourdon tube 65 controls a micro-switch 67 to declutch the motor when the pressure in the resin hose reaches a predetermined value.</p> |
