The converter circuit (4) has two sub-modules (22) that are connected in series, for receiving electrical power from a power source (8) via an inductor (20). Each sub-module has single phase half bridge on input sides (26,28) and single phase full bridge on load sides (30,32). An intermediate circuit capacitor is connected parallel to half and full bridges. Each sub-module is connectable to a discharge circuit (36) for discharging capacitor during discharge position. Each sub-module is connectable at input sides or at load sides of a load (10) in operating position. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) electromotor; (2) vehicle; (3) method for driving converter circuit; and (4) control device for supplying electrical power to motor windings of electromotor. |
